What these subsidies are

Workation subsidies are programs run by Korean local governments to bring in people who live or work elsewhere, covering part of the cost of lodging, workspaces, transport, meals or activities. Some programs accept freelancers and business owners as well as employees.

Support comes in three main forms: vouchers that pay lodging or office costs up to a set cap, reimbursement of actual expenses against receipts, and free access to a local workspace. Most programs set a minimum stay, ask for proof of employment or business, and some require tasks such as social-media posts.
