Workation subsidies are programs run by Korean local governments to bring in people who live or work elsewhere, covering part of the cost of lodging, workspaces, transport, meals or activities. Some programs accept freelancers and business owners as well as employees.
Support comes in three main forms: vouchers that pay lodging or office costs up to a set cap, reimbursement of actual expenses against receipts, and free access to a local workspace. Most programs set a minimum stay, ask for proof of employment or business, and some require tasks such as social-media posts.

It depends on the program. Some pay lodging or office costs up to a fixed cap, some reimburse actual expenses against receipts, and some offer a free workspace instead of cash. For example: Jeju Workation Voucher Up to ₩300,000, Busan Workation ₩50,000/night × up to 10, Gangwon Workation 3-night package. Each program's support is listed in the table and in the official-notice summary on its page.
Most programs are for people who live or work outside the host region, and some also accept freelancers and business owners. For example: Jeju Workers, business owners and freelancers from outside Jeju, Busan Non-Busan workers and owners, Gangwon Workers & freelancers. Check the condition tags and the official notice on each program page.
Many programs ask for proof of employment or business registration. Programs that list it as a condition: Gangwon Workation, Jeonbuk Workation, Gyeonggi Healing Workation, Rural Workation (Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs), Gapyeong Jaraseom Workation Center. The exact documents are in each official notice.
Programs that accept solo applicants: Jeju Workation Voucher, Busan Workation, Rural Living Program, U-cation (Ulsan Workation), Incheon Workation (ITO), Fishing Village Workation, Jeonbuk Workation, Jeonnam Blue Workation, Gyeongbuk Workation, Gyeonggi Healing Workation, Namhae Month-Stay, Gimhae Seumim-ae, Miwon Starlight Forest Workation Center, Boeun Live-Here Stay, Rural Workation (Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs), Gapyeong Jaraseom Workation Center, Chuncheon Workation. Programs that require two or more people: Gangjin FU-SO Farmstay. Others do not state a minimum group size, so confirm in the official notice.
Programs whose notice confirms foreign residents are eligible: Namhae Month-Stay, Gimhae Seumim-ae, Boeun Live-Here Stay. For the others the notice does not say, so ask the organizer before applying.
Applications go directly to each local government or its operator. Every program page links to the official notice and application page, and Wakation only summarizes the notices.
Every program shows the date its official notice was last checked; the most recent check is Sep 17, 2026. A program not re-checked for 45 days is shown as "Check notice" until it is verified again.
